Question Fuel cuts out on my 1985...

When Im driving my celica, and i go to make a sharp, SHARP right turn the engine dies like its out of fuel. Then, when the car straightens up its fune. But heres where its weird. When i take a hard left turn, i mean turning so hard that the ass end is force from behind me on a hard left turn, the fuel is fine. What seems to be the problem? feedback would be great. Thanks

Is it happening regardless of the amount of fuel in the tank?

yes, regardless if its full, or half, or below that it still cuts out turning hard right. Even if i try to speed up to give it more fuel it still cuts out. If I turn hard it spits and spudders. When i turn harder than that it cuts off fuel, though the motor is still on(well in gear it just keeps the motor running just long enough to bog down to 0 rpms, but usually i straighten it out before then) it just shuts off fuel but returns when straightened up. I dont know i cant figure it out.

Is it the carbueretter model?
If the float level is a bit low then fuel can slosh to one side of the fuel bowl away from the pickup point for the jets.

Could also be electrical.
During a turn a plug could be pulled loose from its socket by G forces (the other turn would be pushing it into the socket).
While idling, give each plug a wiggle (beware that the high tension lead coming from the coil will shock you unless you use insulated gloves or pliers).
Do this to every plug in the engine bay and also those near the fuse box, fuel pump, fuel pump relay, oil sender (which drives controls the fuel pump), keyswitch and ECU.
Don't forget to check the ground cables as well as normal cables.

The motor does seem to shake a little bit more than most manuals im used to. The shifter violently shakes in my hand and sometimes makes it go numb about 6 grand of rpm. Also my 85 is EFI so i assume that im oging to have more trouble with finding my problem with my fuel. Ill give your techniques a try stepho. and get back to you when i get the results, though it will take some time because the weather here in indiana is really f*ing freezing.

Try to lift each side of the rear end one at the time and start the engine in each position.
If engine dies it could be fuel pump pick up related. You also may wish to check electrical and vacuum lines for secure connections.
