Turbo in 3sge??

Hi I have an 3sge, and I want to put a turbo..
I know that the pistons and some internal parts of engine is diferent, but I want to know if the cams of the 3sge and 3sgte are the sames??

Alright, well later one is better, as it doesnt have the T-VIS, but you're still working with 10:1 compression vs the GTE's 8.5:1 The heads should be the same, as with the camshafts, but the block is different. GTE has built in oil squirters and is of course already setup with oil lines for the turbo. Block strength is the same though.

Shop around and you might be able to find a company that makes a thicker head gasket to lower the compression for you, or you might be able to stack two together to lower it.

If he has a 91 then it should be a 2nd generation 3sge. I don't believe any 2nd generation 3sge came with T-VIS.
