rear hatch struts

My rear hatch wont stay up I was told by the previous owner that when they took it to the dealer to have them replaced the dealer said that the new pistons would not do any good either . Sounds to me like an engineering problem. Any way is there any one who knows of a good replacement piston that would solve the problem? In the past I have just changed them out and the new ones did the job Thanks much, DV

I don't think there's a design flaw, just a previous owner flaw!

Get some replacements and you'll be good to go. The only thing that would affect this is if you put something heavy on the the hatch, like a big rear wing or a bike rack (I've got the scars to prove that!)

Good advice. I thought the previous owner got a snow job too!
