3sgte RWD transmision???

im planning to put a 2sgte into my 74 celica and i was wondering what transmision could i use?? ideas pls.. tnx

well, you could do the opposite of what the camry guys do and use the stock GT4 transmission, except instead of blocking off the rear diff, you block off the front and just use the rear.

there are a few places that actually sell a bellhousing adapter so you can hook a 3S engine to a rwd transmission, there was one on ebay last week i believe.

Use the gearbox and bellhousing from the ST140 or ST141 Corona (aorund 1982-1985).
This bellhousing will bolt to any S series engine and any W55/56/57/58 gearbox.
Beware that the gearsticks are in various places but you can mix and match internals and the tail extension from differnt gearboxes to get the best of all worlds.

It will hold up for a stock or mild 3S-GTE (the W55 gearbox easily holds 160HP behind an 1800cc 3T-GTE with 160-180HP) but it may not hold up for a wild 3S-GTE.
These gearboxes were sometimes used behind 200-250HP V8's in Australia when Holden and Ford only had 4 speed gearboxes,
