1996 Celica Engine swap

I've got a 1996 Celica Hatchback with a 1.8l in it. The engine has 150k on it and burns oil. very tired! The clutch is also nearly ready to go out. slipping badly at times!

I've read about swapping over to a 3SGTE and had a few questions.

1. I heard the engine was pricey. There are quite a few on EBay for about $1k. Is this normal? It doesn't sound too pricey to me, am I missing something?

2. I don't know what the difference in 2nd gen, 3rd gen...etc. What should I look for?

3. I know that I need the ECU, the tranny, of course the engine and turbo. What else do I need to look for.

4. I've seen a few with cut wiring harnesses. Is this OK? (will I need to cut it anyway?)

5. Any pointers on the swap from someone who has done this before?

thanks a bunch!

Go to 6gc.net. All the information you need will be there. You're better off buying a clip cause everything you need except the TRANSMISSION will be there. But if you'd rather look for all the extra parts yourself thats fine too. It could come out cheaper and it could come out more expensive.
