IT guy trying his hand at cars.

I work at a car dealership as the IT monkey. I've caught the car bug as it were having to stare at our mechanic's current projects all the time. So, when we traded for the 91 Celica GT pictured below I just think I'm going to have to snag it. Any suggestions on where to start for a complete newbie to this. I have a few ideas of where I want to go with it, but I'd like to hear what people with more experience than myself have to say.

Thank you for your patience.

Wow that looks clean... Is that a custom racing stripe on the left side of the hood?

Manual or auto tranny? Car would look great with a turbo. You can search for ideas throughout this forum.

Check everything, I got ripped off when I bought mine

had to replace the floor, the carpet is piss, the engine may be burning oil

its a project car I've already put too much into but I'll eventually get it going good

Good luck with it

First off, thank you for all of the suggestions.

Yes, it does have a custom racing stripe, not sure I like it though, I haven't decided what color I eventually want the car, that's an endgame decision. It is an automatic unfortunately. I had the suspension checked, it's fine. A couple coolant hoses were getting old but were easy enough to replace. Engine seems to be in great shape.

The interior is a little messed up but I was planning on replacing most of it anyway so it's no big deal.

We just got in another Celica this morning. I don't think I would pick this one up personally (it's too nice for me to want to screw with). I drove it for about 30 miles this morning, it's a killer ride.

Not trying to break any forum rules. (and tell me if I am or move it to a different forum, but this seemed the right place to put it.) It'll be in our inventory soon but thought maybe some of my fellow Celica nuts would like a look at it first.
