Gen5 Just bought a 1991 Cellica GT =]

Its in pretty darn good condition has 137k miles on it. Some minor things AC isnt working prolly because it was sitting for so long, and the radio has a blown fuse. Other than those things what should i have looked at, or what maintenence should i do? Also the clutch feels funny when its engaging it comes out real smooth but the last small distance it comes out reallllly fast, is this something inherent to the car? or do i need my clutch looked at? THANKS in advance

congrats on the purchase.... u should prob do all the regular maintainence on it first... ignition system, filters, fluids, etc.... as for the clutch, i never drove a 5spd celi, so i wouldn't know... sounds like it kicks back, which should be normal in some cars... but again, i can't be sure

i suggest to go through the car, look at the engine, air intake, fuses, and anything else
look for things that seems adnormal for you and start from there.
if you dont mind spending some money, have the dealer look at for you, they should know the source of the problem.

btw congrats on getting a celica, you will enjoy driving a celica because i did. =)

i suggest changing the clutch asap. the flywheel too if you can. but just try bleeding the clutch to see if you can get a little better response from it. my celica was doing something like that then the clutch started slipping and of course eventually said bye bye. I replaced it and bleed pretty good and it was all better. my brother has two 240sx a hatch and a coup and they bout acted like that and they just needed bleeding. try it. i mean there is nothing to lose. dot 3 brake fluid cost like 2 or 3 bucks. good luck. and congrats on gettin a celica.
