Sourcing an engine 1ZZ-FE

Ok so I am trying to speed the moving of this car, anyone know where a good place to get another engine would be.. he is looking for a crate engine and wants to go to a yard as a last resort.

01 Celica GT and from what I find out online its the 1.8 1ZZ-FE, I hope thats right.

Autozone wants over 2K for one.

the only way your probably going to find one under 2gs is if your going to turn in a core, and your still looking around 1,800 with that... try looking at www.car-part.com , they are pretty good with having them.

FYI - You should avoid getting the same year engine as the early 1ZZFE had an oil consumption issue. I swapped my 2000 Celica with the 2005 Engine and notice a MAJOR difference in oil consumption.

I've also read this on several other threads & forums.

Best of luck for the engine - hard to find one under 2G's.

2005 was the last year the Celica was made, not 2006.

The XRS model was dropped....Corollas now all come with the 1zz in all three "trims" (CE, S, LE .....XRS = RIP, along with the Celica .... at least for now....seems as though the "sporty" toyota segment is the focus of Scions)
