91 celica gt wont start

I bought this car and it wont start. The car ran for the previous owner and I took it to a place to get it looked at just to check things over and now it wont start. They claim they didn't do anything to it. But one of the guys from the place that looked at it all of a sudden wants to no if I will sell it to him. I told him to take a hike. So with that being said it sounds pretty fishy. I dont know anything about these cars so any help would be appreciated. Its a 91 celica gt 4 cylinder. To be more exact at the repair shop they hooked a computer up to it and it was then that it would never ever start again. I would like to get this thing running so I need all the help I can get

tell em to hook the battery cable back and take it out of there as fast as you can If you do not know these guys tow it out of there and bring it to someone you can trust. If a mechanic wants to buy a car that suddenly doesn't run something has got to be up.

Unless the engine has internal damage or parts removed or some other strange thing, can’t see how they can say it will never run again. If the car ran going into the shop and now they are telling you the above, take 1samgt’s advice and get the car out of there.
