93 celica GT-S Cutting out, stalled, won't start

I am new to this forum so please bear with me. I bought this 93 Celica GT-S with a manual trans about 10 days ago. Everything was fine until I took the car from Tucson to Phoenix. This may be the problem; on the return trip I filled up with 91 octane gasoline hoping to clean out the fuel system. Well, I may have done just that. After driving about 25 miles I felt the car hesitate/cut-out for just a split second, then did it again about ten minutes later, and repeated doing this with increasing severeness untill finally it would not accelerate at all and died. I pulled to the side of the freeway where I tried to start it. It would try to start, but actedd like it was starving for gas. I sat there another ten minutes and tried it again. This time after it cranked for a few seconds I held the pedal to the floor released the key and it ran... barely, coughing and chugging but never reved up. Can anyone help me? Did I loosen something up which may have clogged the injectors or filter? I am getting a Haynes/Chilton manuel today, but any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
