Gen5 St184 5sfe Troubles!

It's idling rough as and ive taken the spark plugs out and theres oil covering them. Theres also a little bit of oil in my coolant.. theres also a smell of unburnt fuel coming from the exhaust.

im thinking the spark plugs arnt igniting and or one chamber isnt firing properly. the engine mounts may be loose as well. ive got new spark plugs but.

How do i go about getting the oil out of my spark plug chambers and do you reckon anything major has happened?

its still drivable, but is shocking as...

if it was out in traffic id be holding up traffic.

(ps, first real problem ive had from my toyota, i was giving it a hard workout as well. 3 drags in a row, it basically shit itself on the third launch...)

anyways thanks!

If oil in coolant you may have a cracked head, block, bad head gasket or some other internal damage. You can do a compression test, leak down test, coolant test for exhaust gases and coolant system pressure test. Once these test are done, you will have a better idea of where you are.

Thanks!

Thanks i think that may be the problem..

I found the rough idling problem though, its only running on 3 cylinders, one of the coils isnt working.

I worked this out by replacing the plugs first and cleaning out the chambers. Then running the car again and finding it was still rough as. I then took the 4th coil off with a resulting loss in rpm and then replaced it. the next one along i took off had no difference what so ever. bingo there was my problem.

soo off 2 the wreckers tomorrow to pick up a coil as im not keen on buying a 200$ pack of 4 atm..

Cheers and ill keep everyone posted how it goes..
