5sfe variation question??

Okay, so one of my friends has a 1990 celica gt-s. The engine blew a couple of years ago and he has stored the car since. He recently bought a 98 model 5sfe from a camry. I don't know much about these engines and am just trying to get some info for him.

So basically can anyone tell me the differences between the two engines or send me to a site with this info. . .just want to see what will need to be done in order to put this into his celica.

the coolant and oil channels in the engine are different, the 98 has a coil-less ignition, and the 90-92(?) 5sfe lacked a knock sensor.
not sure but i think you need the ecu for the newer engine due to the coil-less ignition and addition of a knock sensor...
