USA 2002 GT high RPM for long distance travel an issue? concerned newbie need help...

Hello all

I drive a 2002 Celica GT stick-shift and as you most likely know, these things rev up high RPMs on the highway, roughly 4,000 at just 75 mph. I am planning a little road trip, 6,000 miles, and am a bit concerned about taking the celica on a such a long spin given that I'll be pulling around 80 mph all the time. Are there any negative implications to the high RPM that I will force unto my engine for such a long time? Any thing to do about it? Please help...

Thanks

No problem. Your celica is designed to be driven at those RPM's and it will do no damage. 4000 rpm is not high, you only think so because you are probably used to other vehicles. My celica stays at about 4500 @ 82mph. This is completely normal and will do no harm to your celica. It has been designed for that.
