Basically, you'll be on your own for the swap. Not that you can't, but it's just not a swap that is common. So my advice is to just put on your wings and wing it!

Are you attempting to go RWD?? Its possible, sure. anythings possible. but according to your other post about this sort of thing.. you needed a 3sgte 'real quick and real cheap'... if your on the cheap.. theres no way you'll be able to do this swap with the mustang motor. its going to cost you insane amounts of money, and insane amounts of time.

good luck tho.

Just my 2 cents but doin things like this the "cheap" way is a disaster waiting to happen. Would probably end up being cheaper and les troublesome to just buy a mustang.

i agree with shawn. have these mexicans done many FWD Toyota Celica --> RWD Toyota Mustang conversions? ... you're essentially building a completely different car. its not as easy as just bolting it in. The whole frame will have ot be cut and reworked to allow for the RWD, the tranny, and the engine to fit the correct way. Everything will have to be fabricated from scratch. I guarentee if you bring the car to mexico to have this done, you'll end up with a totally cut up POS celica, if that. You'd be better off cutting out the drivers floor with a hacksaw and flinstoning it.

You should do the mustang swap. It's not that hard. The best way to do it is basically putting the celica body on the mustang layout. May need to do a lot of cutting, machining, and welding. The fire wall will need to be hacked into to stuff the tranny in there. May I suggest that the tranny must be automatic. It'd be hell to get the shifting shit where you would like it. Automatics aren't hardly any slower than manuals. So you have my blessings.

another option

I would suggest bringing the 4.6 into the stats and try selling it for a little more money to put toward a 3sgte... I just think you would injoy your car alote more with a factory type swap, instead of a weld it in swap.... reasons why?
-3sgte, better gas milage
-3sgte is boosted
-3sgte can be put in over a few weekends
-3sgte is made for the car
-4.6 liter will need a fram to keep your body from twisting(or at least some supports)
-Not to mention wireing you car to the ford power plant when a 3sgte is plug and play
-In the amount of money it will cost you to convert to RWS you can probable buy a 3sgte and all the other stuff to make your car AWD..
-And last but not least you can get a 3sgte up to 300hr pretty easy to match the v8 power

This is just my opinion and i look forward to see what you come up with when your done.. GOOD LUCK

Those are all good points, but you have forgotten one thing. A 3SGTE will never sound as nice and beastly as a 4.6 V8 ;-) Gotta love the sound of American Muscle, and sometimes people like to be different, and put a V8 in a Celica. lol
