Unknown warning light meaning??

Hi there, I have a 1990 st183 and yesterday a yellow light on the dash appeared showing an image of the car with what appears to be light coming from the tail end, thought it might be a brake problem, checked and changed my front pads, (though did not really need too) and the light is still showing. Anyone know what this light is trying to tell me??
Many thanks!

IM AN IDIOT, ITS JUST A BRAKE LIGHT OUT WARNING LIGHT I DID NOT KNOW I HAD, CLEVER FOR AN OLD CAR!!!!!

I don't know that I've ever seen that, but could it be a rear hatch/trunk ajar warning?
