Yet another problem

I'm sure you're all tired of my Celica problems by now, but hey maybe it gives you the chance to flex your mechanic muscles.

Anyways, the problem this time is: Mostly when cold, but not exclusively, I will start the car, put it in DRIVE, then start accelarating, except the car will start drifting back and rev up,as if in neutral, then finally lurch into gear and pull the car really hard. Also when I stop, the car will kind of shake and then drop down gears. The real problem is I keep adding more and more fluid and it will solve the problem for like a week or less and then the problem will come back, but no where I go do I see leaking transmission fluid, nor is the transmission fluid leaking into the coolant.

I changed my axles about a month ago and I didn't quite have the axle in so when I hit the gas all the fluid leaked out. and I only put like a quart back in(after leaking atleast 5 quarts of the nastly fluid that was in there) but the problem of the slipping didn't start until weeks after. Since then i've added atleast 7 quarts of fluid.

Any suggestions?

You need to find out where that fluid is going! Check the radiator, let the car idle up to warm then run for a few more minutes and see if anything has dripped where it was parked.

Each time the transmission revs like you said it was in neutral, thats the clutches slipping, and its just as bad as a manual car when you don't let the clutch back out and it slips. It will eventually strip your clutches and you will need a rebuild or a new transmission.
