I want to sell my Celica for a car with amazing gas mileage(geo, jetta..) but i'm not sure how to much to sell it for, and kbb.com isn't any help.
Description: '94 Celica ST. 222,000 miles but the previous owner said some mechanic ruined the engine and had to replace the entire thing in 1997, i'm not to sure if this is true or not, so i'll assume it's not just because i can't prove it when i sell it, and I don't want to cheat anyone.
I bought the car for 300$. The owner said the axle needed replacing, and the body has rust damage, and a good amount on dents and paint damage, the interior is okay, stuffing is falling out, and it missing the radio.
I put about 400$ fixing the axle and the knuckle on the driver's side. It gets about 25 mpg city and 33 highway because of the overdrive. The engine is in awesome condition. New air filter. The driver's side rotary needs replacing, along with a hardened bolt I lost on the brake caliper carrier, which I can't seem to buy anywhere.
So how much could I get?
Assume i'm selling it honestly but still stretching the price so I can get a new car.
You paid $300 for the car and put $400 into it, is the correct? What bolt do you need, have you tried the obvious such as a junkyard. The bolt may fit more then one year of car. Do a Yellow Page and Google search for bolt and screw dealers, There are places that the only sell fasteners.
As to the price, one place to start is Craigslist-Colorado, they have a few listed. Also check local newspapers, etc. One seller wanted $500 for a car that did not run.
Look at the diesel Jetta, gets terrific mileage and drives great.

It's the bolt to the brake caliper carrier. There are 2 of them.

I lost one of these on my camry once, but I just went down to the junkyard and pulled one. When I got to the counter with it, they laughed at me and gave it to me for free. You should try going to your local scrapyard.
