ST165 vs. ST185 Question

I'm thinking of buying a Celica All-Trac. I like the lines of the ST165 Better than the ST185, but I wanted to know the aftermarket support comparison of the two, and if there are any major differences between them. I'm new in the Toyota 4 cylinder world, so be easy on me, lol

the st185 is much better for the aftermarket. you can find more engine mods as well as suspension and brakes.

That being said, would it be worth it for him to hold out for a 185, or do a 185 swap into 165.

I've seen some pretty well built 165's.

There is a ST165 with a rod knock for $1600 pretty local to me (about 3 hours away). Is that a bad deal? It's an 88 white one with the blue interior. It's supposidly super clean except the motor. If I were to get that one, I'd get an ST205 Engine to put into it. I just like the old school look of the ST165's

Do that then.

As far as I've seen you can get most of the same stuff, just not all the heavy racing stuff.
