Apparently they are not interchangable ?

The EGR systems are slightly different and the 86-87 uses a different fuel injector from the 88-89, so the ECU have to be different. I confirmed on Rock Auto that the part numbers are different (86-87 same, 88-89 same). If you check in w/ the guys at www.celicatech.com, you can probably get more/better info than this little bit I know.
