question about an 83 celica GT

a guy down my street is selling an 83 GT for $2100 CAD which works out to about $1900 US
its got 177k KM on it so again converted its about 110000 miles. he just replaced the alt, new belts new bat, some work done on the exauhst, its been saftied got all the paper work and everything even has the original manuel. some rust. so basicly my question is this the right price. good deal, should try to get it cheaper? cause I've been looking arround and have seen so many variations in price on these 80's modles its had to tell for me. so any help would greatly be appreciated

i got mine for free so i couldnt really tell you. I think 1900$ is a good price for a good running driving car, and 110,000 miles, that will last you forever on these toyotas

I've heard of these models going from a few hundred dollars for a basic runner and up to US$7000 for a fully restored example.
CAD2100 sounds a little high to me if it needs some work.
CAD1000-CAD1500 would sound more reasonable.
Having those parts already replaced is a nice bonus.
But I'm in Australia, so don't take my word on Canadian/US prices as gospel.

They don't make RWD any more, so in the end it's whatever you're willing to pay.
Most sellers think of it as just an old car, so bargaining usually works because they just want to get rid of it.

$1,500.00 US dollars would be reasonable. Try offering that. These are some of the best old toyotas you'll ever find (83-85).If it's the hatchback its better.

I'd grab it if I had the money. Maybe try to get him to come down a couple hundred, but if the car is sound, it seems a good deal.
