New Celica gen5

Hey all at TN

Iam new here and sorry i didnt do the "introduce myself" thing.

I have a Gen3 Camry vienta V6 executive.. and god i love the power in that thing, but anyway i may be given a new car from my dad...

its a 91 Celica SX coop and i have been wondering a few things about it....

for starters... its kinda fast... but the accelerator peddel is kinda screwed.. there is like a stuffed area in the peddel where wen u press it to that angle the car has no reaction. its kinda hard to explan but it preety much is very hard to control the power your giving it.

second of all.. i have been considering this for a long time.... how hard would it be to put my camry v6 engine into the celica... the are both the same toyota year generation but iam guessing that has nothign to do with the engine bay.. iam preety noob when it comes to mechanics... but i do know ppl that could help if i was givin a guide to this. so any information from you guys would b handy.

sorry all if this is a noob question which has been ansered over and over but i looked through the forums and couldnt find much about it.

Welcome,

Regarding the motor swap it wont go in easy without some work. I believe your car should have a 5sfe in it stock. If you are really looking to make some power you could swap in a
3sgte. If your car comes with a 4afe then you could always stick a 4age 20V in it.

thanks for the quick response..

yeh i was thinkin the camry engine cause i figured it is powerful but its in the "wide body" camry so its drawback was the weight.. i guessed that means if it was put in a lighter car like the celica it wud do good power and also keep its econemy... but perhaps it dont work like that.

its hard for me being in australia to get hold of engines like the one you mentioned. would i benfit more from getting the that engine swap.. or just turbo'in my current one... also how much do u think it wud cost?
