I went out to start my car, it was totaly dead. I hadn't driven it in about ~6 days or so, but I havn't had any problems so no clue why it would completely die. The car is parked in the garage so i need to push it out so I can Jump it.
I turned the key to the on position but cannot get the car out of park.
I read somewhere about older toyotas having a problem where teh break light stays on and locking the car in park. So maybe the brake light went on and drained the battery? any info would be helpful here. I couldnt locate the bright light switch that people were talking about on my car.
I also checked the fuses, i heard they could be a problem, they are fine..

First off, I can't comment on as to why it won't start. Am assuming, from the sound of your post, that you have an automatic tranny, as do I in my '92 GT 'vert. To "override" the tranny lock, there is a small button slightly to the right of the shifter and slightly fwd of it when in P position, labeled "shift lock override" (at least on mine - dunno if the ST is different, due to the different engine...dunno), but anyways.... depress/hold down that button and shift car from Park to Neutral - then, turn key to "unlock" steering lock, and push the car outta the garage. Hopefully the ST tranny is the same, as it's quite easy and plain on the GT. Hope this helps, and good luck on getting it started.
Heh, no my tranny has no override shift button... which is strange, since my GF's camry has one and I know most auto trannies do have them. But I havn't be able to locate one for this car anywhere.
The car may not have a visible labeled button. Look around the shift console panel above where the P, D, R, etc letters are. See if there is a small tab that can be easily pried out. Underneath would be a plastic tab, when pressed with something like a screwdriver will allow the shifter column to move.

That's good info. My '94 Corolla has something like that...I always thought it was just a tease...maybe where they would've put the override button had they put one. Who knew there was something under it?

OK ... YEAH !!! Have heard of that as well (was forgotten...) Likely that'll solve the problem .... my wife's corolla has the same "hidden" override, didn't know Toyota used it way back when, for goodness sakes
