Strut bar install concerns (2001 Celica GT)

Hi,

I recently purchased a front upper strut bar for my '01 Celica and was having some concerns with the install. When I was fitting the mounts for the strut bar over the bolts it wasn't sitting flush for some reason. Even when I used the supplied washers (in varying configurations) I just didn't feel good putting the strut bar in place when the mounting plate wouldn't just sit flat on it's own.

Am I just smoking crack in this regard? I'm not overly experienced with upgrading car parts and would like some feedback to either allay my fears or to instruct me in the proper installation of things.

(If it matters I purchased a Tanabe Sustec strut bar)

Thanks in advance!

the words you are using are vague...what do u meen by sitting flush....did u tighten all the bolts before making this decision? stuff usually lines up correctly after all the bolts are half way in..

If its an adjustable one, adjust it to fit. If not, just bolt it down.
