Brake Change 00' GTS

I'm about to change the brakes and rotors on a 2000 GTS and was wondering if there were any special tools needed, or anything i should be looking out for. i know in order to change the rotors on my impala i have to change the bearings as well. is this the case for the celica too? TIA

Not up on this model. On most late model Toyota’s the pads can be removed once the caliper is unbolted from the torque plate. The torque plate needs to be removed only if the rotor is being changed. The rotor usually easily slides off, held in place by the hubs studs and brake pads. If the car has ABS, take care not to damage the sensor which is usually held in place by one bolt.

ok thanks Toyo! i'll probably get around to doing this tomorrow then. Although i think my fiance wants ceramic brakes now, instead of the el cheapo Autozone lifetime warranty brakes because of the dust. Thanks again!
