Question 1989 GT4 lost all power

Hi folks, my GT4 has lost all power, i was driveing like normal and next thing i know the car died, normally id be out digging arround under the hood, but since i am recovering from surgery at the moment i can't.

So i was just wondering what common faults the car has? i have a funny feeling its the fuel pump. i'm hopeing theres an access pannel in the trunk to get to it, or do i need to drop the tank like when a chevy fuel pump goes?

Any help is really Apreciated!!

Thanks,
Gordon.

My 91 celica did that to me while driving. It started out when i would press the gass to accelerate it woudl want to die so i had to nurse it along .. then it died completely two blocks from home. Turns out there is a seal inside the cylinder head around the shaft of the distrubutor that leaks. It had been leaking oil ever so slowly into my distributor cap, which was burning, turning to a tar and gumming up the cap not allowing for any spark. I replaced the seal, and usually have to hose out the cap once a year with carb cleaner because it still leaks a little. Although this year it stayed nice and clean.. anyway, i'd check your dist. cap.
