hey all new to the celica world

I have a 91 tercel so im usually hanging out with tercel paseo peeps just got an offer to buy an 84 celica for 300 dollars is it a good platform for the 7mg or the 2jz supra motor just wondering.In other words do you thing Im wasting my time thinking about supra motoring a celica?

No, the engine bay is meant for a 4 cylinder engine.A 7M can be made to fit but it is seriously tight, the engine will be too far forward (which kills handling) and it involves lots of custom bits (ie $$$ and frustration).But it is an excellent platform for a 4 cylinder turbo engine.Also, the 22R can be made to make good 130-150HP (flywheel) with modest money.The Lexus V8 fits too (but it is a complicated swap).Even if it doesn't pan out, for $300 you can't really lose because it makes a nice daily driver.- Stepho
