94 hatchback Celica, new to cars

Hey everyone, I'm new to these forums. Some guy who came to my job today recommended this site for advice on my car.

2 months ago I bought a 94 hatchback celica, with 168,000 miles on it. Everything's stock on it, no mods or anything. I barely know about cars, but at the same time they fasinate me. I've always been into street racing cars, and hooking them up, ect. So I want to do the same with my celica, but I don't know where to start.

Right now I want to focus on show, not performance. I want to get a bodykit for my car, spoiler, and new tires and rims. But I wouldn't know where to look and what to get, and I don't want to get ripped off. So are there any suggestions?

After the exterior is done, that's when I'll look into performance. So I'll ask later on about that.

What would you guys suggest is the best way for me to educate myself about my car, know how to hook it up, and know everything about it? I'm on a very low budget so I'm doing everything bit by bit, but I don't know where to start. Thanks for the help in advance,

Manny

Why'd you go w/ a '94 hatch with 168K on it. Doesn't sound like a very good platform to me.

It's all I could afford and it was what was available at the time. It was a short notice last minute thing, but I have to work with what I've got. But I'm not worried about performance at the moment, my car runs just fine. I need help and tips on working on the extirior.

Start with wheels and tires, then do suspension. As far as exterior goes, I'd get a kit that resembles the GT4's styling.

Pretty nice! Definetly go for something that looks like the GT4's. Also get some wheels while you're at it.
