Bottom line is its worth whatever the buyer is willing to pay for it. Rare car or not, its old but not a classic and it has over 100K on it. If you find the right person thats looking for that particular car he will be willing to pair a fair price for it. Trading it in at a dealer will get you next to nothing.
expect the trade in value to be just about nothing at the dealership if you are searous about saling it you should sale it as a private party you would get way more

No matter which forums you join, you have to handle the heat from it.
If you can't, you might as well give up on the forums on the Internet.
Anyway, good luck on whatever you decided to do.

I have an '89 All-Trac I paid $800 for a year ago, had multiple offers from $1200 to $2000 and it's not even that clean. I've seen nice examples on Ebay and ModifiedCarTrader.com go for up to $3700. I've also seen a couple go for $500 sooooo.....
Spruce it up,take some pics, write specifics and put it out there. A private sale is the only way you'll really get anything for it anyway. There are maybe a couple thousand '88's in the US. They got more popular in 1990. The cleaner it is, the more you ask.
