Info On Clutch Install on 2000 GTS

So, My 2000 GTS 6 speed has developed a clutch slippage issue, Probably the result of the previous owners 17 Year old sons driving habits, and I have decided to re do the clutch... Being a mechanic of some degree, But, Mostly on My Old Muscle car, I am wondering if there is anything that I need to be aware of in specific, before I undertake this project:
Here are my questions:
1. Is there any recommended clutch Kit that would be sufficant for Daily driving, Yet, Hard daily driving?

2. What are, if there are any hurdles, or special tools I will need in the clutch Job? (ie: you have to reove the lower contol arms etc, that kind of stuff)

3. Is My time better served having this job done at a toyota guy or is this relatively straight forward? If so, what could I expect this to cost?

I am not afraid to tackle this, just curious as to others experiences with this set up.

thanks
Eric

Not sure about tools, but go after a trd clutch if you can. From experience you will love it. IF you are doing it yourself and dont want fitment or extra hassle, get TRD.

I suggest a service manual, not only would it help you in the clutch job but any future projects as well.

As for the tools, any simple handtools should do. I suggest a breaker bar but your bolts might not be as hard to get off as mine. The install process is pretty straightforward.

For the clutch I suggest a stage 2 Exedy. They are a proven brand, affordable and should come with the complete clutch kit.

source for clutch kits?

Does anyone have a good source for the exedy stage 1 or stage two clutches that are cheap?

It looks as thou the TRD kits are discontinued from TRD but are available from other sources... Just not sure if they come complete with the Bearing and alignment tool...

I am still open to other suggestions, but, am trying to keep the cost under $250 for the clutch kit and shipping...

Anyone?

Thanks
Eric
