USA Alternator A/C belt diagram

Hey what's up people. I need some help. My wife was driving my 92 celica gt home when she heard and noise and saw something rolling in the road as she took off. Then she said the A/C stopped working and the battery light came on. So I picked up a belt on my way home. To my surprise the belt was still on the car but had about 2-3 inches of slack. My alternator wont move up anymore (at the hightest point) and everything seems to be in place. The belt goes around my alternator,a/c compressor and idler pulley. I'm I missing something? Please help my belt looks fine and is not stretched out.

Thank you in advance

Did you get it taken care of?
Isn't there a diagram on the hood or near the headlights?
