rebuild and turbo?? or 3sgte swap??

ok heres my delima, i have a 5th gen celica GTS and i dont wanna rice out my car before i make it fast. ive saved up ALOT of money but dont know the best use to make of it. i have approx. 141k miles on it but i dunno if i should do a rebuild on the motor and make it strong enough to handle high boost levels and just run it like that (by the by, i have a 5sfe) with bolt on's and then just make the body better, or if i should just go with a 3sgte motor swap and upgrade that. i want to go with whichever will yeild the greatest power overall but being only somewhat knowlegable on motors and cars in general, i dont know which that would be. if anyone can help me out with this i would greatly appreciate it.

ps
if anyone knows of any places (should i decide to do the rebuild) that have good prices on forged pistons/bottom end kits in Maryland or if anyone on here can make em for me i would greatly appreciate that info too. thanks

well if ur gunna rebuild it then turbo, dont use oem parts, use upgraded pistons and all of thee above, that way ill have a stong engine, with turbo, and .2 over the 3sgte

but that will cost more money than the swap... i would go with the swap if i had the money infront of me for it over the rebuild, but im too wussy to tackle the labors of the swap

i asked myself the same question, go with the 3S-GTE swap, grap an MR2 turbo tranny, and a good clutch and your set. If you can find the ST-206 motor(1994-1998) then your lookin at 260hp, you'll loose some of that power because only the two front wheels are pullin it. You can always upgrade the turbo later, and always do more upgrades. Plus the swapped motor is made for a turbo, so you can probably push the psi higher than that of the 5S-FE.

I also plan to do the swap, but i wanna find out if its possible to turn the FWD into a 4WD. If anyone knows if this can be done please let me know. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Just remember, BIG BLOW OFF VALVE, i love the sound of turbo.

I also recommend doing a brake upgrade for extra stopping power, and the alltrac hood, cause the motor has a top mount intake.

what du u mean st206? u mean st205? u could go that way but the swap is harder, st185 3sgte would be easier.... if u wanna make it 4wd u need the floor pans off of a st205 gt4 celica and swap them with ur as with all the trannts axels blah blah blah all the stuff u need.... people are trying it but i dunno how its working

im pretty sure ST-205 is the gt-s model, and the ST-206 is the gt-4, as the ST-184 is the gt-s/gt, where the gt-4 is ST-185.

im not 100% sure bout the 6th gen numbers, but the 5th are ST-184/185
