There are a few threads on this topic already, and the general concensus is that it's cheaper and better to buy a Celica that already has the I-6 in it. That way, instead of going from a 22RE to the bottom of the line 6-cylinder, you can (more easily) bolt in the 7M-GE, 7M-GTE, or the any of the J-series engines.

The 7M-GTE will fit any of the early Supras but the Celica has a shorter engine bay.
People have made it fit but you have to deal with a very tight installation and a lot of weight very far forward (ie bad handling).
The radiator would have to be moved to the frotn side of the radiator support panel (even more weight going forward).
Either that or relocate the firewall back a few inches (expensive).
And the rear end will need upgrading to Supra spec to cope with the turbo's grunt.

Better to get a 2400cc 22R block and put a 20R head on.
Most bits (crossmember, gearbox, etc) remain stock.
Add a cam, decent exhaust and 150HP isn't hard to reach - pretty good in a light body that still handles well and can drive everyday.
Won't be anywhere near the sheer grunt of the 7M-GTE but at least it will go around corners instead of ploughing into the trees.
