What kind of Suspension are you looking for? An adustible type for street use and autocross. Or will you be drag racing the car?

What do you use your 82 GT for? Is it a daily driver or is it a drag / autoX?

For Shocks/Struts-
If you're using it as a driver and looking for a little more performance than stock. Tokico makes a set of OEM replacements that are a bit stiffer than stock. They are a Gas shock replacement. KYB GR-2's are a pretty decent OEM upgrade also. I'm not sure of an availability on coilovers for that year. I don't think there is a big demand for them.

Neither should run you more than 300$ to do all 4 wheels.

BUSHINGS!!!

There is a ton for your gen celica. Even some full kits. They will make one of the most noticable differences in your suspension. You can throw every new part you want in there and they will only work half strength if your bushings are worne out.

As for sway bars, under body braces, and Strut braces... I have no idea whats out there for the 82's. You'll have to look into those yourself.

You can check the manufacturors websites. They can direct you to local dealers if you want a walk in.

Auto Parts Warehouse usually stocks everything and there in almost every major city. I wouldn't recommend getting anything from their online store though. Everything I've purchased through them has been a wrong part. Luckily I was able to make due with what they sent me both times.

First time was an Automatic radiator, So I had to plug the extra coolant lines.
The second time was a Cat that was soposed to be OEM fit but it came with the wrong flanges. I ended up having to weld it straight in.

If you go to one of their actual warehouses. I'm sure you'll get much better service especally if you get the wrong part.

If you're going to be drifting. Definately do all of your bushings. Look into under body bracing.... and before you buy a single suspension part. Assess the condition of your body. Make sure all of your framerails are in tact. Check ANY suspicious frame rot. Drifting is VERY VERY hard on an older unibody chassis. You'll want to make sure the body lasts longer than the tires. When drifing the chassis takes a lot of tortion. It pulls and compresses on all of the seams. It's really good to know what condition they are all in before putting it through the beating of drifting.

Also keep in mind. the suspension is a shock absorber, it doesn't make the road any softer. So if you add a stiffer suspension, it's going to put more load on the chassis and the parts it's attatched to. The weakest point is going to be the part that flexes.
