i was thinking about swaping the engine out in my toyota celica st, you know the small 1.6L 4 banger. any way i was thinking about finding an MR2 engine, the 3SGTE and swaping then out. what im asking is if any one has done this or if it is worth it and if i would have to move the motor mounts?
It has been done, the 3sgte is an S series motor and the 4afe is an A series, so they use different mounts. Some people have made mount adapters. The best bet is to weld in new mounts though.
Yes it's worth it, if you're willing to take the time and do everything right. If you get a front clip. You will have EVERYTHING you need. with excess.
thast a really good swap right there. i was goin to do it to my celica but am goin with somehting different. i looked into it andapparently a corolla v6 tranny will bolt right up to that if your having trouble lookin for something.
if you do the swap and want to get rid of the 4afe i'll buy it from ya.... i blew mine up yesterday morning at 4am going to a fire call..... i want to do the swap your thinking of but i just dont have the money to do it now
i have just aquired a 90 2dr sr5 corolla. would like to know basic options for safe a series swap.any help would be greatly appreciated. this car is a dream. my first standard shift, and ive been doing homework and i like the black top 20, should i just turbo the 4afe?
If you like the blacktop 20v.... then why don't you put one in your car?
