Thinkin Bout a Celica

Hey guys, new to the forum. I got a question. I'm starting to get into the import tuner world, I'm trying to get around to all different scenes and I just like all different kinds of performance. I'm looking at 00-04 Toyota Celica GTs. I wanna do a little bit of performance and visual mods right off hand and then do some more extensive mods. This is what I was thinkin' bout so far:

Vision Invader 6 Body Kit
DG Motorsports Carbon Fiber Hood OEM Style
Spyder Tail Lights
L.E.D. Streetglow Under Car Kit
Injen Short Ram Intake
Ceramic DC Sports Header
205/45ZR17 Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season Tires
17x8 O.Z. Crono HT Rims
Hotchkis Sport Suspension Front and Rear Springs

I'm still lookin' for a good exhaust system, any suggestions? And how about what I chose for ugrades? Is this Celica gonna be worth my time or is it gonna be a big headache? Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks a lot.

haha. well a toyota could never be a waste of time
and celica's are a wonderful choice. especially since they are underestimated in the streets. All these little honda drivers think they're the shit with their vtecs.... oooooh watch out lol
until they come up against a vvti boo to hondas..

and as for your exhaust i would look into maybe 5zigen pro racer a-spec (about 10-12hp gain/ 10ft lbs torque

or a
Blitz nur spec, maybe apexi. all are good.

I had personally owned a 03 Gt Auto. It a great vehicle, got the looks, impressive handling out there and all the hate from the honda community. The problem with the celica is there a lack of aftermarket performance parts for it. The only thing you can do to make the celica fast is boosting it. Then you would be spending butt load of money on the turbo kit, maitence, blah blah. If it speed you want, then get a boosted civic or integra. If it looks and handling you want, go with the celica.

And the list of mods that you had listed, the only thing worth getting is the CF OEM Hood, injen short ram (if you planning to get an APEXI PFC) but I would get the AEM CAI if you are not planning to do so, Weapon R street header instead of the DC sport header (or you can get your stock header ported), and the hotchkis. The rims are up to you. For an exhaust, try finding a Kazuma or TRD exhaust. Best sound and gain out there. If you unable to locate one, you can get the HKS Hi-power exhaust. It sounds great.

But please do not get the spyder taillights (get the tyc red-out style), don't get ricer neons and don't get the replica veilside kit (its played out and look nasty. im kidding hombre lol ). If you want a bodykit, try looking for an authetic kaminari kit. Alot of peolpe has it but it one of the cleaniest kit out there.

In short term, the celica is a bottomless money pit. Not worth making it go fast.

Yea, I'm starting to think otherwise about this car. I def. like the looks, that's a major factor that drew me to the car and that I know about older Celica's performance but I guess they slacked off on it. If I can find one cheap enough, I will only install an exhaust, intake, maybe a header, and maybe a bodykit. I can hold off on the CF hood. I'm still lookin at other imports too, like an Eclipse or Civic or some kinda Nissan. Thanks for the help.

The Celica is not a useless money pit. It has great qualities. As for stuff for your celica, if you decide to get it Bodykits:Wings West W-type (it looks great and not too flashy), Also an Erebuni 613 (it looks like the TRD body kit but with some subtle but nice diffrences). Exhausts: HKS Hi-Power Exhaust, Tanabe Ultra Medalion Titanium, and 5Zigen Boder 304 speed series. Intakes: Blitz power core, AEM 21563P. Tails: The Spyders arnt bad if you get the black ones. All we can do is give you some ideas man. You chose what is best for you.
