Question Help! Carrier Bearings Celica GTS???

Toyota dealer says I need to replace carrier bearings in Transmission on 2000 Celica GTS, 6 Speed MT.

Can I do this without pulling transmission?

Thanks

Celica carrier bearings.

Car has load bearing roar. Deal mechanic put on lift, used stethoscope to locate noise. Are the bearings in a transaxle which can be reached without going through the complete transmission? Any info on dropping tranny?

Thanks

you might not have to tear down the whole transaxle assembly, you mightbe able to just remove the transmission, split the case, and then replace the carrier bearings on the differential then slap it all back together...

the job pays a hair under 10 hours, i think you may be biting off more then you can chew brother in law...but theres what youd be working with once you have the trans out
