4th Generation maf sensor problems

I got an 89 celica gts. i have this problem with low idle. my buddy says these cars develop a problem with the flapper for the maf sensor. has anyone resolved this issue? i would like any help possible...thnx

Low idle could be a lot of different things. Have you adjusted your idle speed or checked your timing first?

yeah dude i def. checked all that first all is good. I fixed the problem temporarily by taping a penny so it props that flap open enough to get proper idle. it will have to do for now till i get a new maf sensor. thanks for the input!
