1983 celica gt 22re valves adjustable?

hey i was wondering are the valves adjustable on the 22re? any info on these? my celica has a knock/click noise going on and was just wondering....lmk asap!!!!!!

Yes, they are. Before you adjust them, buy a valve cover gasket (make sure it comes with the half-round end gaskets, too!).

*Adjust valves with engine at normal operating temperature. It will be hot on your hands, just a warning.


Intake: .008 inches

Exhaust: .012 inches.

You will need a 12mm box end wrench, a flat blade screw driver, and feeler gauges to set the valves.


Also, find yourself a Haynes manual to help you out. It's a cheap investment.
