95 Radio Display LCD

Anyone, please!
My wife's 95 Celica GT(S) with the best sound system (premium?) has lost both displays for the radio/tape/cd controls. It still backlighted and all the radio outputs work fine. It seems that the contrast circuit for the LCD is gone, all segments are now at the same intensity. Anyone else have this problem, a cure (I can solder/troubleshoot), a schematic, or a good repair shop?

I don't know of any schematics for these radio's. Toyota used several vendors. The front panel often plugs into the radio body, perhaps the plug has corrosion, bad contact, etc and needs cleaning. The display IC chip may be bad but doubt you can get individual parts.

Do a web search, there were a few places that specialized in car radio repair. You will need to find the radio manufacturer, usually this is printed somewhere on the case.

For the price of the repair, you might as well go with an aftermarket system.
