1988 celica 3sfe

Does anyone know if there is a port on the rear of the block on a 1988 celica 3sfe engine for a knock sensor. I've noticed the sensor is not used on this model but I was wondering if the threaded port for it is there or even the boss for the hole to be threaded into

I doubt its there because knock sensor is in 92+ 5S-FE Celica.
You'll need the ECU to use the knock sensor which means you'll need to change a bunch of other parts.

3sfe and 5sfe block

the 3sfe and 5sfe blocks are the same just the 5sfe is stroked out with an upraged head to give it the 2.2 liter size opposed the the 2.0 liter 3sfe. Does anyone know if the older 3sfe has a casted hole to place the knock sensor on the older gen blocks? Even just a boss I can tap myself?
