Does anyone know of a good not too expensive source for the electric motors that raise and lower the top for a 1997 convertible

Thanks

Sorry, can't help ya on this ('tis a very good question, as I have a '92 vert, but everything still works so far ....... crossing fingers and toes ) ...... but I CAN tell you this .... your '97 vert is one of just 4,364 Celicas that ASC converted for that model year. I e-mailed ASC asking how many convertible conversions they did for my model year, and they provided me with figures for every Celica year they performed the conversion on......the downside to our verts is that parts ain't cheap if it's related to the tops/rear windows.
Good luck in sourcing the parts you need.

Could you type in those figures please?
I'm mostly interested in the RWD models but others are probably interested in the FWD models.

Sure 'nough

Figures as provided to me by ASC :

84 : 250
85 : 4,248
86 : 0
87 : 5,000
88 : 6,783
89 : 7,311
90 : 0
91 : 7,917
92 : 6,697
93 : 4,671
94 : 0
95 : 6,004
96 : 2,792
97 : 4,364
98 : 2,316
99 : 2,532

.... for a total of 60,885 Celi 'verts done by ASC. Dunno what percentage of total Celica production was converted over those years, but Toyota did provide me with production figures for my model year ('92) - Mine is one of 6,697 'verts out of 41,598 Celicas built, which is approx 16%, give or take.
I know there are the rare old Sunchaser verts, and perhaps one other small scale conversion, but these are the ASC conversions, fwiw.
Hope some of y'all found it useful, or at least interesting
