They test and tune to make sure that the part will fit and not wear any other parts on your car. K&N won't release a part that will chance your cars performance and integrity. However TRD releases parts that are stock o.e.m. {original, equipment, manufacturing.} or slightly modified. K&N and TRD's filter are very similar. But, if it was my i would have chosen K&N. but TRD's filter is just as good.
