A new 1988 Celica owner with questions...A new 1988 Celica owner with questions...

Thanks.
I just bought a 1988 Celica GT and have a few questions. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Is there a particular muffler that is recommended? I am hoping for the most quiet. Autozone has a OEM 'Defender' muffler, does anyone recommend this one? I will be visiting a wrecking yard soon. Is it unadvisable to get a muffler in a wrecking yard?

How would I find meetings of Celica owners in my local area (San Diego)?

Thanks again.

Muffler: I bought a Borla from Ebay. It's throaty and deep without being annoyingly loud. If you're going for a stock sound then I would suggest an OEM-like replacement. A junkyard muffler could have rotting baffles inside that will inhibit flow.

Remote locks: Any car with an actuator on the locks can have keyless entry installed, and Celicas of that year do use an actuator for their power locks.
