Hey all. I have to replace the engine in my 91 Celica GT. Damn rod bearing died. and while I have it out I'm going to replace the motor mounts and I'm really not sure how many there are.
I think there is 4, but not real sure about that. I think 3 on the motor and one on the transmission. There might be two on the transmission. But it is either 4 or 5

Another thing that I forgot to ask about was when I looked at them online I only shaw 2 types of mounts and they are labeled front and rear so how many of each do I need?
On the site that you posted there are 4 parts that appear to come up. But when you look at the part numbers there are really only 2. I went and looked at my car this morning and identified at least 3 of the mounts. One on timing belt side, one on radiator side, and one on the tranny. I think that there is also one on the firewall side but I can't get a good look at it. But the ones that I can see clearly, all 3 of them look like they are different, and this is confusing the shit outa me cuz I can only find 2 styles everywhere I have looked online.
The only mount that's attached to the block is the rear mount. The front, left, and right mounts (even tho the passenger side hardly constitute a mount) are all attached to the tranny.
So there are 4, but only 3 you will need to look into replacing. The passenger side is simply bolts.
You can get upgrade mounts from Kirkosaurus. They are poly-inserts, and not every expensive. I think it'd be $75 for 3, but I'm not sure if he makes the side one.
Man I am confused... lol I thought there was a mount on the passenger side. I swear I remember one bein there... Ok I think that I may understand what ur sayin. The one that is on the top of the tranny is the front, firewall side is right and radiator side is left? And then the rear is just bolts on the timing belt side? tell me if Ive got this right Im starting to get confused now... Because I could have swarn there was one on the passenger side, but maybe Im just not rememberin right... let me know if ive got this right at all.
