Checking Rod Bearings...

Ok, so I have come to the conclusion that I most likely have a spun rod bearing, and Im pretty sure that its on cylinder #1. What I would like to do is jack up my car take the oil pan off and try and check and that it is for sure a rod bearing. I want to know, if I do this and the bearings look good then I should be able to put it back together and it should operate fine right? Of course this is assuming that I line up the oil holes and torque the bolts right.

If a spun bearing, oil has been cut off to the bearing and crank journal. The risk is the journal and connecting rod bearing surfaces have been damaged from lack of oil. You will need to inspect these, the bearing will need to be replaced.
