92 GTS bogs at 5K

My buddy just bought a Celica, looks to be in great shape and has a few mods done (short ram intake, aftermarket 2.5" exh to magnaflow).

Seems to run great except for one thing, he says it cuts out/bogs at 5K RPM.

Hasn't had a chance to pull codes or anything and I know it's a pretty general thing, but anyone have any ideas what this might be??

When was the last time it had a tune up?

Not sure, we'll get that done right away, so I guess we'll find out quick if that was the problem

I had an issue of sputtering/bogging/misfiring/hesitation 6 months ago and after i changed the spark plugs, i never had that problem again.I bought the celica from a girl 6 months before that so who knows when was the last time she got the tune up.
