Well the P0171 code System too lean (bank 1) you are most likely going to need to put O2 sensors on the car.
Your evap system, is what monitors your fuel pressures and vaccums to the car. It factors in a bunch of stuff from the intake and maf sensor to how much fuel and pressure is in the tank, it is a large amount of computer inputs and vaccum readings that help monitor all of this. Hope this helps some

P0171 (System too lean, Bank 1) has nothing to do with the evaporative emissions. Evaporative emissions deal with how the car manages the fumes in the gas tank by storing and venting them into the engine where they are burned off. Codes that have to do with emissions start with a 4, like P0446 or P0440. Codes that have to do with engine control start with 1, like the one you have.
For one reason or another, the engine thinks it isn't getting enough fuel, and the mixture is lean. A common problem that causes this on celicas is the mass air flow sensor located in the intake boot just after the air filter. Other possibilities would be a vacuum leak, clogged injector(s), or a problem with the oxygen sensors, but these are usually few and far between compared to the MAF.
