Canada Winterizing my '04 Celica

Hi all.. purchased on 04 GT, Tsunami edition this past fall, quite a lot of fun to drive around. Very enjoyable on the highway and such.

However, due to horrible snowclearing in my neck of the woods I've decided to store the car for the winter here at home. I've done a fair bit of reading on it to this point, and I know about a trickle charger, using a fuel conditioner, and a few other ideas.. however..

One thing that I was reading about was using a fogging spray, either by spraying in the carb and running the engine, or removing the plugs and spraying. However... I have no idea how to do that. hah! So.. umm.. any suggestions/diagrams/whatnot?

Only about 3 months, should be good again in late March/early April, hopefully. May at latest.

I would fog it, but only in the spark plug holes; you don't want to gum up any sensors or vacuum lines in your intake. Stop by a Bombardier snowmobile/atv dealer & buy a can of storage oil. I fog my sled, snowblower and lawnmower as well putting stabil in the gas.

change and top off all fluids, remove the battery and put the car on jack stands. not too high where the suspension would be hung and not too low where it'll create flat spot. just to the point where it'll touch a little bit. that is if the car has to remain in the same spot. 3 months isn't a big deal so nothing much to worry about

Okay, thanks for the advice. The only other question would be a kind of simple one. Again, I figure there's no other place to put them but... would I be putting the jack stands roughly on the standard jacking points for the car?

Yeah, I know, total newbie question.. but that's what I am..

No jack stands at the normal jack points for tire changing. you will bend the 'reinforced' metal lip made to accept the scissor jack.
Put jack stands under the front frame (cross member) that the suspension arms bolt on to. On the rear, put it under the trailing arm mount.
Have you got any pics of the bottom suspension are/frame areas?

No, I don't, unfortunately, but I do have the repair manual which might help me out. I'm also having a heck of time finding different sets of jack stands.. axle stands are not the same thing, correct?

I'll have to take a look when I jack the car to see what's under there..It makes sense what you're saying though.

And having now examined half a dozen different sites, I don't think there is any difference and feel kinda dumb. Heh.. So I guess the question is, anyone have any pics/diagrams?

I know, asking lots of questions, but I really love the car, and want to do what I can.. hopefully next year I'll have my own heated garage and the storage won't be such an issue (can take it out more often, etc..)
