Good job noob^

Anyway. Always start with strut bars and CAI and Exhaust.

And remember... Loud cars are annoying and aren't cool anymore.

i wouldn't say always start with what you said..it all depends on what the person wants out of the car.

Appearance..performance
Most people know the celica isn't a fast car without you putting alot of money into it...But ones that do go the performance route, they usually go for its good handling. Like autox and maybe take it to the road tracks....there is very few that has put alot of money into the motor and got it to go fast.

If you plan to get wheels...please get the car lowered first..or else it will look like a 4x4.

Intakes on the 00-05 tend to throw cel..and also cause bogging at low rpm. Search blue bomber mod on newcelica.org for a solution to that problem.

And if you happen to become a member on that site..please use the search feature before you make a new thread and ask questions that have been answered numerous times.

The best mods for 2ZZ these days are:

Injen cold air intake
PPE race header (only race header that gives gains on 2ZZ)
Full catback exhaust
Apexi PFC or Hydra EMS dyno tuning (lift from 5500 - 8700 rpm)

These mods have recently amounted to over 200 WHP on a Corolla XRS (230 - 235 HP at the crank) on a dyno. You can check out the thread at newcelica.org.

I guess lightweight racing rims, better sticker tires and sway bars can help handling of the car.

I don't think there is a complete catback exhaust for a celica..just axle back.

PPE header, weapon r race header i think is another good one..and on newcelica.org there is a guy that ports stock headers...and that is another top choice in gains.

Cai does not require a turbo..cai just replaces the stock air box.
People tend to turn away from cai on celicas because of how many have hydrolocked the engine..as in..sucked water up it and blew the engine.

good cai - ebay (bomz)..mainly its a replica of a AEM cai...injen is another fav..AEM..and tpr intake is suppose to be a good intake..but the company went bankrupt a long time ago and very very few of there intakes and exhausts made it around for the 00-05 celicas.

Intake is what will give you the most horsepower out of all the other mods..without going FI.

FI can maybe be $6-8k for the kit and full tune and install. Not real sure, but thats my estimate from reading others installs...I haven't went that route yet.

Weapon R is garbage (so is DC header). Don't even go near that header. It makes the car lose power at high rpms. I have seen before and after dynos myself. They basically took the 1ZZ header and made it a 2ZZ header as well with little modifications. PPE Header so far is the only header that gives 10 - 12 WHP gain primarily because of it's design being only specific for 2ZZ.

Now here is another thing when I bought my car the used car dealer said it already has an aftermarket exhaust but I can't tell what type it is How would I check if this statement is true or not.

The exhaust looks alot like the Apexi Exhaust -N1 Series
http://www.newcelica.org/partscatalo...tegory=exhaust

Now I dunno if thats the one but it looks a hell alot like it.

well i was under the impression that the WR header was good for the 2zz..I have a 1zz so I don't read too much on 2zz specific parts..

seems to be mixed thoughts about it:

For anyone on nc.org that has actually utilized the site, they'll know that you can port the stock header w/ a good flowbench to test it for about $150. Makes good power. Flowbench FTW!

Didnt see it, but yeah one of the best options for a header... And the Weapon R is useless unless you get the 2.5" collector and run a PFC at that.
