Question Serious Oil Leak @ Valve Cover Gasket '90 GT, replacement questions

I am planning to replace the valve cover gasket tommorow, and I am looking for any pointers regarding this process. I have the 3S-FE engine.

Questions:
How hard of a job is this?
Where do I need to put my RTV?
Any pointers or tips before I get started?

Read the links at the bottom of this page for more ideas. The 3SFE is a smaller displacement 5SFE both engine were used a many Toyota models including Camry.

A few other suggests are: clean all sealing surfaces completely for a good seal, use a little gasket sealer all around the gasket surface that mates with the head (perhaps a form in place gasket material in place of silicone-FIPG), re-torque the spark plug tube nuts evenly until the torque stabilizes at the set valve, this will take a number of times as the gaskets compress.

With the cover off check the half plugs for leaking, they should be OK but just checking. No need to remove them if they are not leaking.
